Whirlpool Washer Front Loader - Ripped off! It cost $250.00 to repair; the serviceman was at my home all of 15 minutes. The below or otherwise known as the rubber seal was ripped up and caused my washer to leak water all over the floor. I washed a load of laundry, 1 item being my 2-year-old granddaughter’s pants that had a 4 zipper in the pant leg. The serviceman suspected the damage was done by the zipper. So how many of us wash clothes with zippers?!I called and ordered the part from Sears thinking this was possibly something we could fix ourselves, only the part was on back order and would take a month before it was in. Therefore I looked online and could purchase the part, delivered for $91.00. I called for repair service to ask them about it. He said they could be difficult. It would take him about an hour to put it on. Guess what, it was on in 5 minutes. Now, Im even madder because I know I could have done this myself. Whirlpool! Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this was 1 and a half years old; we’re a family of two, no warranty. Think people, we’re getting ripped off.

When I first bought this machine I loved the big tub, but I was concerned that there was no agitator. It confuses me how clothes can get clean if there is nothing to rub them again. Even in the olden days they rub clothes against a board. Well my concern is valid and I believe the washing machine industry needs to go back to the old model, as this new version does not work.Here are all the problems: 1) The machine judges how much water to put in. This doesnt work. I follow the directions and outline the perimeter and dont overload, yet still it just barely puts in enough water to make the clothes wet. Im all for conserving the environment, but enough water needs to be provided to actually get the clothes clean. I would like to be the judge of how much water should be used, so I would like to be able to tell the machine if it is a small, medium or large load. I do believe that the lack of enough water is why the clothes do not come out as clean as they should and why they end up smelling (see #4). 2) There is no agitator, so there is really nothing available to help clean the clothes. Spinning them around like a maniac is not enough, which leads me to the next problem. 3) The clothes come out twisted terribly and then many times come out of the dryer wrinkled because of how hard they were twisted. I tried to select a less harsh spin cycle, but then the clothes are too wet to put in the dryer. There is no happy medium.4) Biggest problem to date: Our clothes/towels have all started smelling. You know that smell when you leave your clothes in the washer too long (like two days) and then put them in the dryer? Its that smell. The clothes/towels dont smell when you immediately take them out, but they do smell at any bit of moisture. When I dry myself off after the shower, I notice the newly washed bath towel smells like a wet dog. I have used the pods, liquid detergent and powder. I dont remember having the smell problem when I first bought the machine and used powder, so I just returned to using powder today. (Ive even tried doubling up on the pods, but the clothes still smell.)This leads me to problem number 5: When using powder in this machine, the machine does not empty the powder container completely, and so the clothes do not get the required amount of detergent. Often there are clumps left over in the powder dispenser, but not always. (This is what led me to go to the pods and liquid detergent in the first place.) But at least with powder (I use Gain) my towels dont stink after the first time I used them.I wouldnt recommend this machine. I really researched machines before I purchased this one, but they all had bad reviews, so how do you pick? And I never look at the good reviews because we all know so many people are paid to rave about products they know nothing about, or it is a company employee writing the review. This machine is a huge disappointment. I am going to try adding a rinse cycle like a previous reviewer suggested. Maybe the extra water will help with the smell. Of course this is not good for the environment though, so this whole way of making washing machines with no agitator and limiting water defeats the energy efficient goal.

Have not contacted anyone yet, but I’m very unhappy about this situation. This refrigerator is less than 2 years old; I’m afraid of putting anything in this unit as it is very undependable.

Ive had full use of the unit for 1 month out of 3 that Ive had it. Freezer stays at a temperature in the mid-20s and, after 4 repair visits, it turns out the compressor is faulty and now Im waiting for the 2nd part to arrive and be installed to see if that corrects the problem. Sears stepped away from the problem saying it will be repaired. Whirlpool has wonderful telephone support that is totally committed to me staying with a faulty appliance until its fixed. My view is that a unit that expensive, should be no problem to replace allowing Whirlpool to take as long as they want to make repairs and re-sell it. But no; their commitment is to keeping the refrigerator in my house and running a service tech back and forth while I continue tossing food that cannot be used.

Front Load Washing Machine, Model WFW97HEDBD0 - This is the worst appliance we ever owned. Purchased in 2015, multiple problems since! 1. Soap dispenser did not dispense and leaked down the front of washer... 4 service calls, control panel finally replaced, clothes not clean, leaking continued. Had to place soap into washer drum. 2. Pedestal drawer made grating noise, track off, drawer replaced, opened better but still made irritating noise. 3. Grease oozing from side of washer both sides. Decided to look in back of washer and OMG! A copious amount of grease is also beneath & behind the washer & dryer. I had to scrape with a metal spatula device to pick up and it took over 1.5 hours to remove & clean. We are lucky a FIRE did not start when using either machine. This machine was a LEMON from the beginning. In fact when we were having it serviced, I stated I wanted it replaced but was informed 2 visits were counted as 1 and did not qualify for further investigation. We cannot rid ourselves of this machine fast enough after the last issue. New washer coming tomorrow, not a WHIRLPOOL! New machine is LG WITH 10 year warranty on motor.

After phoning Whirlpool, the machine was scheduled for repair with a factory-authorized company. The first repair attempt was unsuccessful due to a lack of parts. It took 10 days for the parts to arrive, and another unsuccessful repair attempt was made. The verdict is that a new motor control board, costing $350 plus labor, is necessary. With the delay in service and cost of repairs, I may as well buy a new machine.

Called local parts/service center - ea. hinge is $42 plus shipping and labor to install. Obviously this is a defective design. The lid is too heavy. I was having a difficult time deciding to spend 150-200 dollars every 2-3 years for hinges on a $700 washer and then I read all the other complaints about Whirlpool washers. I will sell it for scrap and buy a better brand.

Nothing on control panel (computer). Didnt call for service tech as this machine has been crap since I bought it. Tried to return it but couldnt after I first used it. It would only give hot water on 2 cycles and that was on bulk or delicate. The regular cycle would only give warm but actually it was cold. Not enough water for 6 pieces of small clothes on regular. More water on delicate. Didnt wash very well. Clothes were not really as clean as they should have been. I used to only buy Whirlpool appliances but have now switched. They are bilking the consumer with subpar machines.

Since it was under warranty, they replaced it. We continued to have the same issue with turning the machine on. The technician instructed us to hold the start button down for a minute or unplug the machine to reset it. The problem persisted. Now, we are told it needs yet another motherboard. Cost - $500! We paid about $650 for the machine! (The manufacturer only offers a one year warranty on the motherboard) What incentive do I have to purchase this part? After all, Whirlpool only warranties it for a year! That in itself, tells me they cant guarantee the quality of their product.

They assured us that the oven was self-cleaning. It is not self cleaning. It only cleans the bottom. We have spoken both to the local store and Whirlpool several times. The local store will do nothing. Whirlpool sent us a sponge and a plastic scraping stick. They told us to clean it BY HAND every time we used the oven and were very condescending. We are 75 and 77; we are not about to climb into an oven to attempt cleaning an oven that will not clean. Stay away from the Aqua Clean products like the plague. They do nothing, and Whirlpool will also do nothing. Next step -- court.

I bought the Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher on November of 2014 from Home Depot. The first thing that happened was that it started to leak. I called Whirlpool and someone came out to look at it. It took about a week for them to come. They said it was installed incorrectly and they do not handle installation issues. They left. I took the dishwasher out and reinstalled according to the guide. It still leaked. The dishwasher had to be perfectly level before the leaking stopped.The next issue was that the dishes were not getting clean my dishes. The top rack was the worse. I called Whirlpool again. They came out, took the dishwasher apart and said the part called the diffuser had become dislocated. He placed it back into its proper position and left. This was April of 2015. The dishwasher did an ok job. Some dishes still came out with food on it. By the end of 2015, close to the warranty expiring, the top rack was no longer being washed. I took the dishwasher apart from the inside and found the diffuser was not in the right position again. So every time I want to run the dishwasher I need to take the spray arms out and the racks until I have access to the bottom of the dishwasher to reset the diffuser. Now the warranty was expired, Whirlpool wanted about $150 just to come look at the dishwasher. Sears wanted $59. So I called Sears. Their tech said the dishwasher has a broken motor. For Sears to fix it would be around $400. I called Whirlpool. I felt that the motor was already broken within the warranty period and that the problem finally got diagnosed now. Whirlpool felt this wasnt the case. Their price to fix was also close to $400. Now I need to buy a new dishwasher and throw away a one year old dishwasher. Only this time I will buy the extended warranty. Overall, poor product, poor customer service, and poor warranty coverage.

The biggest problem is that instead of a simple dial to control temperature, you have to be a computer genius to figure out how to turn it to a different temp. even by the instructions. And the ice maker throws ice all over the floor even if you hold the glass up against the top. When I first got it, it made a very loud noise when it run, but that changed with time to a bearable volume. Everything seems to work well other than those few little things.

Repairman need to replace the control board which had gone out. $450.00 to replace that piece, but could not guarantee that it would be the only problem. The motor or some other issue may have caused the board. This machine was purchased at Home Depot on sale and at $450.00 to repair would be approximately 70% of the original price. It will be cheaper to buy a new one rather than fix this one. We were not happy with this machine in the first place. It leaves the clothes stained with a white powder that never rinses off. The cycle time is very long, up to an hour to wash a load. The clothes are still very wet once the cycle is finished, which of course increases the drying time. I cannot recommend Whirlpool top loaders after my experience with this machine.

A week and a half later he came back. Asked some of the other neighbors; many said the same thing. Some had theirs repaired; others were ignoring. We had all moved in within a few months of each other in our Phase of completion.Called Decker and Sons where microwave purchased; they said Too bad. Call Whirlpool direct. I did. Was told I could pay to have repaired through a service company. When I said several residents had been having the same problem and it would seem a recall should be made, I was told that 250 similar complaints had to be received before a recall would be considered. If I could find that many, I should contact Whirlpool. Well, that was obviously not possible. My next door neighbor had his repaired before he sold his unit; the new owner recently said she had just replaced the Whirlpool stove because of the poor oven performance (which I have also experienced even though I ungraded) and microwave due to the noise it made. I have also learned that three other neighbors paid over $100 each to have their microwaves fixed over the last few years. I have just continued to use mine. Today an error message came up but a motor noise continued. Came to my computer to check on Error Message meaning and found this site and registering complaint for an obviously poorly constructed/engineered microwave. Obviously, Whirlpool does not care or listen. I will not buy another Whirlpool appliance! I will do my best to warn anyone purchasing appliances to not buy Whirlpool. Had the company admitted poor quality, no problem, as a production problem can occur but to knowingly disregard and ignore is inexcusable.

Paid $72 for an estimate and they tell me $350 for parts & labor to fix it. $350 to fix a $439 (new at Lowes) washer? Do we now have disposable large appliances? You can do better Whirlpool. This has been a good washer. You shouldnt be pushing me to buy a new one so quickly.

He told me I was using wrong type of soap, so I changed. That didn’t do a thing. Now I have mold growing in the dishwasher because the tub is cracked all around the inside. Called whirlpool, of course they couldn’t do anything about it. Have never heard of dishwasher cracking. So today, Lowes came out and took picture of crack that is where I brought it. This washer is going back. It simply will not spin the water out of the clothes. It says it gets clothes drier than a conventional washer, but I have not found that to be true. I have to use the drain/spin cycle over and over and still the clothes are wet. I had the repair crew out and they were able to get it to spin out a very small load consisting of two sheets and two towels. Other than that, it does not spin out water. It is also very difficult to load if you attempt to leave the center open as they recommend. The cycles are very long. Not being able to look inside without pausing it and waiting for it to unlock is also a huge hassle. I am getting one with a glass top so I can see what is going on. If you leave it open for too long, it cancels the cycle and drains all the water, and you have to start over which is another problem because all your detergent just got drained out before the load gets going. It uses so little water on most of the cycles that the clothes get totally tangled up with one another. I think you should be able to choose the water level manually. I am all for saving water but if I want more water from time to time, this does not allow you to do that. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I bought a matched set of Whirlpool washer and dryer. Within about 3 months the dryer quit running on any of its cycles except heavy duty. About a month after that the washer started messing up. First it quit putting in the bleach. Next it quit adding water except under the heavy duty cycle. Then after about another week or so it quit putting in fabric softener. After a couple of more months it only uses hot water. Now not quite a year after I purchased it the washer now only adds water in the wash mode and not the rinse cycle. Now all this would not be a problem except I had lost the warranty cards and in their website would not let me register it online.

I just got off the phone with WP customer service and explained how many complaints are out there for F70 code error, yet they do not have a recall on this part!How can this be justified? This is a non-mechanical part of the washing machine. The life expectancy should be more than 3 years.My washer is not overused as there are only 2 people in the household. I do not want to pay the cost to repair this. I think WP should issue a part recall on this model. Does anyone know how to find out how many replacement CCU or CPUs have been purchased in relation to the number of 9400 WFW sold or if there may be a chance that WP needs to reconsider a recall?

While under warranty, I had it fixed but since then, it has happened twice more. The repairman who fixed it said there was a part missing and a part of the unit was melted. Not only that, but the plastic is coming off on the handle. Nobody at Whirlpool will help me. Too bad, there is no warranty anymore. This refrigerator is a lemon. I am so sorry that I purchased it.

Im very satisfied with the looks and performance of my Whirlpool dishwasher, it is quiet enough that I put it on to wash before going to bed. It is that quiet. Im not happy about the way it was installed, but that is no fault of the dishwasher or Whirlpool, it works great even though it sits kind of crooked in the cabinet. The dishes are always sparkling clean and dry when it is done washing.

Have had this washer for one year. Clothes have never been clean since day one. Dark clothes come out with white marks all over. Having to use an extra rinse cycle or set on bulky items - whats the point of a high efficiency appliance? Still not clean after that anyways. Stains such as chocolate and toothpaste still remain after washing and my husband complains of finding small holes in his clothes. Lid needs to be left open at all times or you get a funky smell. I am using the HE liquid detergent, even tried a cold water product for cold washes. I hate this washer. Wish I had my 20 year old Kenmore still.

My dog is afraid to be anywhere near my Whirlpool side by side fridge. It makes horrible noises every 15 minutes to half an hour. I have to coax her to even let me escort her past. It has been snap crackling pop for several weeks and is getting louder with thumps and clangs. It does sound like the devil inside. Appears to be coming from the freezer side.I do not have the ice maker hooked up . It is plumbed for an ice maker but the servicemen who delivered it advised me they didnt do that . I didnt have the money to hire a plumber. The fridge was a PG& Energy Partners project in which those of certain age and income levels were presented new energy savers in exchange for old ones.Wish Id have kept the old one, especially after reading comments here. Purchased a new Whirlpool built in microwave oven model WMH 310 17 AB-1 in July 1, 2013. As of February 2014, the glossy black finish on this microwave is dull where the finger push controls are and scratched up along the top of control panel and top front of door. We only use a wet cloth and towel or microfiber cloth to clean this microwave; nothing that would be abrasive so very disappointed in this product. It looks quite ugly for a new appliance. I did not anticipate how delicate the outside surface would be - never in over 30 years have I had this problem with another appliance, even stainless steel does not scratch like this.

We bought a Whirlpool range with glass cooktop and convection oven to replace a 20 year old stove which had served us reliably but was beginning to look a bit dated and worse for the wear. The new range was installed in February, less than 2 months ago. Today, while I was preparing Easter dinner and had a ham in the oven, the cooktop elements refused to heat, even though the cooktop on light was lit up. We followed all the troubleshooting tips we could find in the user manual and online, but nothing worked. We decided to do the rest of the meal in the microwave and just finish the ham in the oven (which had been working). Then the oven failed, and would not heat back up.As a last resort, we pulled the range out and unplugged it, to perform a hard reset of the electronics. (This was recommended in some of the online troubleshooting tips.) No joy. Both the oven and cooktop elements will not heat, even though the lights on the control panel light up. Now we have to call a service technician to come fix it in the middle of a pandemic. How can a brand new and expensive range be less reliable and less useful than the cheap 20 year old stove we just got rid of?

I purchased Whirlpool Duet HT front-load washing machine with model #GHW9400PLO. After a year of owning the product, failure codes continued to appear. I have followed the direction under the troubleshooting page which said to cancel and unplug the unit. After doing this over and over, I finally took the top lid off to inspect the problem. A ribbon cable was torn due to the top lid rubbing against the lid and the drum. I called Whirlpool and this was not covered (go figure). I then asked for the ribbon cable and they said they cannot just supply the ribbon cable and that I would have to buy the user interface which is $191 plus a $35 core fee because they re-bill them. What a rip off. A ribbon cable from a computer store would only cost $10.00. After that repair the Micro Machine control went out which is code F11. Code F11 is all over the web because this is a defective part that Whirlpool should do a recall on but why do that when they can charge $310 plus, get this another $35 core charge because they re-bill them? If you are not mechanically inclined with these parts plus labor you could have bought 2 washing machines. But who in the world would buy 2 pieces of junk right?Bottom line is: do your research and buy from a company that will stand behind their product because Whirlpool will not! They know by the number of parts they ship out that that part should be recalled.

I wish I had read all these reviews before buying this junk/lemon of a machine. Havent had the machine for a year yet and lots of problems. Only can wash five towels at a time and thats pushing it. Decided I would deal with it, until it gave other problems. First sometimes skipped cycles, then water came in when it was spinning. Called for service. Checking to see if we even can get you service in your area, representative says.About a week later tech comes and puts two parts in and left. Happy to get laundry going but, guess what??? Washes only doesnt do anything else and trying desperately to drain water out. Of course I have to take clothes out and bring to laundry. Tech comes back next day. Now he cant get any cycles to work either. Fried, tech says. Sets me up for next Saturday, fine.Now get a call on Monday, not coming. Tuesday is next appointment. Apparently inventory representative says. Didnt know that before??? Call Whirlpool, service first, then company. I want a new one, this is definitely a lemon. Nope, tech will be there on Tuesday. I hope Whirlpool reads this. They should be ashamed of their company. They used to be good, always bought their products. Dont buy these machines, trust me you dont need the aggravation. We purchased the Whirlpool refrigerator on July 9, 2012. Refrigerator was replaced on August 23, 2012. Since then there have been many, many service calls. I wish I had kept records to be able to tell you exactly how many times, but we purchased an extended warranty. From memory, I can tell you the ice maker has been replaced twice, new doors have been installed for refrigerator and freezer (replacing ice maker a third time), then within the last three months the freezer door was again replaced (replacing ice maker a fourth time). The gasket on the freezer door has been replaced. At one point the refrigerator was colder and freezing and the freezer was not freezing. Parts and pieces have been repaired on several occasions. The inside of the freezer door next to the ice maker is still frosting up and yet again the ice maker is not functioning and needs to be replaced a fifth time. In other words this Whirlpool refrigerator has been a lemon for us. Finally, we figured it out. There is a fairly large gap at the top of the freezer door between the case and the gasket. If you run your hand across the area where the gap is, there is definitely a dip in the face of the refrigerator case where you can see the top of the ice maker. A picture showing the gap is attached. I am not sure that our purchasing a store extended warranty was fortunate or not. My husband has insisted on repairing this thing over and over and over because of the extended warranty. I think repairing it is futile and the only people being punished by all the repair calls is us because we frequently do not have ice, we are losing food because of freezing or not freezing or cooling or not cooling as the case may be. Thank God, the warranty expires in July and we can repair this Whirlpool by replacing it with another brand -- not in any way associated with Whirlpool. If you Google Whirlpool, you will find that Whirlpool is affiliated with almost every other brand of refrigerator and really limits your choices. Based on my experience with this Whirlpool refrigerator, I will never purchase another Whirlpool or any other brand associated with the Whirlpool brand. The myriad of repair persons in my home probably find a Whirlpool refrigerator is job security for them.

Whirlpool credited our account, but this was to purchase another Whirlpool, which we did. We paid for installation. About 2 years later, it has gone out. Same problem. Lowes says not their problem. Whirlpool says it will pay for the part only. Plumber will cost 150-200 dollars. All the plumbers I have talked to will not repair them, then they are held responsible when it goes out! As a disabled Vet I cannot afford to throw 400-600 dollars away. And, Whirlpool tells me that if they give me an RA number to replace the HWH, it will have to be a Whirlpool from Lowes. Great! When the Dishwasher was originally installed, immediately I noticed when dishes were placed the racks, there is an annoying squeaking sound. I am not exaggerating but the noise can be heard from my sidewalk outside! I called Whirlpool and a technician was sent to my residence. There is nothing wrong with your Dishwasher. I was told to Grease the racks. One year later I still have the same issue! I placed the phone near the Dishwasher to have the Customer Service Rep hear the Loud Squeaking and to no avail. I will never ever buy another product from Whirlpool. Now the latch will not close to the door! I rarely use this appliance, only placing dishes and utensils. No Pots and Pans!!!!! This is going to be another huge bill I will be responsible for paying and I dont feel it is of my own doing. It seems to be apparent that Whirlpool does not stand by their products!!!! I called for service and the repairman took apart the door and cleaned it. He said it would probably happen again. There was a leakage somewhere and he couldnt repair it. I think it is a quality control problem at the manufacturing levels.

I should have known that this machine was going to give me problems from the first service call. I have had to have the motor replaced 4 out of the 8 times the machine has been serviced due to coins getting into the motor. I have a problem with rust around the dispenser. I also feel that the clothes get very tangled when washing. The machine is just 5 years old. This time when I called for repair with A&E appliance repair, they told me that it was going to be $450.00 to repair. Now, I am not going to repair it, especially after having all the problems I have had with it. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product or any of their other products that they make. I did call Whirlpool just to let them know my problem and to let them know that there have been hundreds of complaints with the same washer that I have. Features are the fact that it has given all of our dishes, our silverware, our pots and pans sparkling clean looks for all those years. It fits nicely into the kitchen space which was designed for a dishwasher. It never needed a repair. After all those years, this machine still looks fine. After all those years I really doubt if it still has a warranty and it never needed service.

Well a month later, I had to call Lowes again to find out what the problem was. They had him back out with the part within 2 days. Then, I had to call again. They installed a new part and it still froze. They told us to do dumb stuff at Whirlpool like turn the temp up, dont use the top shelf, etc. The money they want for these appliances and you should put a band aid on it to make it function properly? Duh? The final fix was to duct tape the vents to allow less air flow. This appliance should have been recalled. I have since read reviews and it is an ongoing problem. Before buying, do your homework and make sure the other brands are not manufactured by Whirlpool. The Whirlpool hotline for problems is not that service friendly, they have an attitude. I need to replace two more appliances and they will not be Whirlpool. The repair service was great but they are independent companies, not Whirlpool. How do you fix a lemon? Consumers need to be aware of this. Whirlpool would rather spend money on repairs that did not work instead of replacing the appliance. If you want 7 or more repair visits and no results, buy Whirlpool.

The problem was not solved until about the 4th visit from the repairman. I was told there was no problem with our ice maker from the first 3 repairmen.In the meantime the refrigerator side started pooling water in the bottom under the bin... Had to call again for that problem (they fixed). Now the door is showing rust under the handles. I have contacted Whirlpool and they have told me thats too bad, but they dont have to do anything because read the fine print, it is not their problem and thank you for being a Whirlpool customer. I have used two Kenmore washer for 45 years and I never had any problems. I use hot water to kill germs -- well there is not enough water to drown a fly. I have to hand-wash a lot of my clothes. I have never in 45 years had to do this. I am so mad that Whirlpool is taking everyone for suckers. Ran some time water draining with tablets to make it clean and run better. Had someone to look for it, no sound. But when we now turned on, it sound like a mumbling high sound from inside machine or upper lid. We have some thermostat error a few times now. I said to her, “Wow, if the population was to throw their Whirlpool appliances into the landfills after 7 years, this would be quite a horrendous situation.” I think its disgusting for a company to build appliances with a shelf life of 6-7 years and with only a 1-year warranty! What a horrible brand! I will never buy another Whirlpool brand product ever again. You spend $1500.00 on a range oven and then around 5 to 7 years the control board blows out and costs another $500.00 to replace plus a service agents fee to remove and install.I asked the Whirlpool agent if I could get the control board discounted and she refused and said, “I am sorry, we are unable to help you.” Pathetic! Their cost on these boards is around $120.00 or so. I was told by an appliance service rep they could discount that $500.00 board even half and still make a decent profit. Do not ever buy Whirlpool. Go with other brands instead. Their customer service policies are horrible. Your hard-earned money will be buying an appliance with a 6 to 7-year shelf life before major repairs.

Im going to add my 2 cents to the already poor reviews of this dishwasher. Ive been disgruntled about it since it was first installed. The silverware rack will not stay shut, so when you go to shut the door all the silverware falls into the bottom of the washer. And its totally rusting. All the pins in the carriage are literally rusting away. This is a faulty washer and Whirlpool needs to find a way to repay their customers. Ill never buy a Whirlpool product again.

Clothes dont always come out clean. If there is anything more than 2 sheets in the washer, it becomes unbalanced and then goes through a rinse until the water is up to the top! You have to watch any heavy load for this! Today there were 3 sheets in the washer and sure enough it kept rinsing until I physically reached in and rearranged the sheets. Then when it was done and I pulled the sheets out to put in the dryer, they were SOAKING wet! I hate this machine and will NEVER get an HE washer again.

I just about 2 months ago replaced it with a normal washer costing over half of what the Cabrio cost me... and now just a few days ago the dryer followed suit and died. The repair (out of warranty) was going to cost $150.00 and that was just for the part, I had service people out twice for the dryer since it came home with me also. The Magnetron and Diode have malfunctioned and been replaced. Now the plastic around the door is falling apart, cracking, and splitting. This is unacceptable, poor craftsmanship, and low quality for the price of this Whirlpool appliance. This needs to be reported to the company and properly addressed. Until then, were staying away from any Whirlpool related products. We also own Cabrio W/D. The washing machine has had problems from year one. Im submitting a separate review for this appliance. After 50+ years of doing laundry, I had to purchase my 3rd washer. I bought the new top loader without an agitator. I very quickly learned that it has no lint filter. My first load was towels and mats. The lint clogged up my tub and drain pouring water all over the floor. Since then it has ruined many of my clothes which are mostly sweaters and sweater-knits. Without a lint filter, it deposits the lint right back on the clothes where it stays forever unless I shave or pick it off, even though Ive turned them inside-out. (Time consuming waste!) Even my socks have little balls of lint. It seems the only safe fabrics are new, smooth woven cottons, cotton-blends and slippery nylon providing there is no lace or brushed elastic.Now to the no fabric-softener dispenser... The Downy ball simply doesnt work, and theres no other way to add it. Waiting to use dryer sheets is too late; the damage is done. My clothes are dingy. In my 50+ years of ownership, I have never had to purchase a separate product to wash my washer so that it doesnt stink... and it does. Why does it lock after starting? If I could afford to replace it, I would... but I cant.

I called Whirlpool, they said I have to pay a tech to come here and troubleshoot. The warranty is 1 years, so after paying over 1k for an appliance, that gets you 1 year! I try to support American made, but no more Whirlpools here! I have all Whirlpool appliances, but Im guessing they wont last either. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service.

I bought a brand new washer from Home Depot, Whirlpool 4.3 cu High Efficiency Top Load Washer to be exact. It hasnt even been 90 days and it started to make the loud, horrible noise so we had someone come and look at it. Apparently the transmission blew and the oil leaked all over my tile floor. I work full time and I do laundry only on the weekends and there is only two people living in the house so you can imagine we do not use it that much. I went to Home Depot first and since it was past 30 days we had to called Whirlpool direct. The customer service is horrible. I thought since the transmission blew, they would replace the entire machine since that is the brain of it. NOPE! They said to replace the entire machine and give us a new one, it would have to break 3 times. Are you kidding me? They did not offer to reimburse the tile damage or the amount of money I had to spend at the laundromat. Not to mention its been over a week and the guy still has not come out and fixed the transmission. It would not be a big deal to me if the hose broke or something simple, but imagine if you bought a BRAND NEW car and the transmission broke 60 days after you bought it. You would take it back to get a new car. The customer service line could not care less about the issue. I spent over 2 grand in appliances from Whirlpool and I will never buy their product again because of the customer service and the fact they did not want to make the situation right. I just bought the machine brand new for a reason!

We bought Whirlpool Frontloader Washing Machine not over 1 month ago and it started to malfunction showing Ed1 error on its display. We contacted the service center and it was taking too long to have a visit from a technician. Then the technician, who also installed the unit came and checked the unit. He called someone from corporate office or from support team to ask what is error code Ed1 and overheard over the phone that this is a known issue on the brand. The technician said it is possible that unit will be replaced or only the motor. I contacted the brand support thru Messenger and requested to have the unit replaced, because again, the unit is not over 1mo old.I was advised it is not possible as replacement of unit is only applicable when the issue happened within seven days of delivery. STUPID ISNT? Policy is something unworthy for a product that is over 30k. And again, unit started to malfunction not over a month after it was first used. I would say we pretty much took care of the unit, we only use it twice a week. Placed it where it was perfect to put. Followed every advice given to us by the technician who installed it but still, it malfunctioned a few weeks after we started to use it. I am ashamed of the brand itself, we should have chosen Panasonic or Samsung instead not a dumb brand like Whirlpool. I certainly do not recommend the brand for a washing machine unit. Frontloader is a crap.

All water lines were fine and power coming in and out of dishwasher and control panel was checked and all looked okay to electrician, but could not get the machine to power up. No longer under warranty. Very dissatisfied there is no recourse.

On 1/24/12, I replaced a 15 year old water heater that had started to leak after years of faithful service. The new Whirlpool unit heated water to a tepid level only, and that was obtainable only after running several faucets at a time, full bore. I used the product manual to trouble-shoot and was unable to find the problem, so I called Whirlpool customer service and was told that I would need to have a plumber come and and inspect the plumbing before a technician could be sent to check the water heater. I was not very happy about that, but complied. The next day, a plumber inspected the lines and fittings, tested the pressure and agreed that the problem was likely a faulty water heater. That cost me $95.00. I called Whirlpool again. This time, I was told that I should have had the plumber call Whirlpool while he was still at my home! The customer service representative agreed to authorize a service call, and I was given the phone numbers of three companies to choose from. Apparently, I chose wrong. The plumber seemed experienced and was very friendly. He was at our home for about 40 minutes, made a cursory inspection and said the problem did indeed seem to be with the unit, and he would return to his office to contact Whirlpool and arrange for a replacement unit and he would call back. Tellingly, I realize in retrospect, he did not give me a receipt. After several hours, I called the company and was told Whirlpool had not yet called them, and if I did not hear from them soon, I should call Whirlpool myself. This seemed reasonable to me, and I did so, at which point I realized I had been lied to from the start. The Whirlpool representative said that the service technician stated that he had run an isolation test, obtained hot water from the water heater, advised the homeowner (me) that the problem was in the plumbing, and I possibly had crossed lines. She also told me that the technician had said that he had difficulty making the homeowner understand what he was trying to explain. A complete and utter falsehood. I asked her how an isolation test was carried out, and that I would call the plumber to see what was going on, as this was not what we had been told. I was livid and called the plumbing company back just in case there was some honest mistake. Of course, there wasnt. I would like Whirlpool to be made aware that the company that they contract with is disreputable and has a history of deceitful practices. I found many negative reviews, and in fact the sort of treatment I received seems to be their modus operandi, no receipt, never a call back, assure the customer their problem will be covered under warranty, misrepresent the the service performed. The reason I add this last statement is that at no time was the new water heater disconnected, drained, refilled and allowed to return to operating temperature; the so-called isolation test a process which Whirlpool told me takes about two hours. This test did not take place. I previously stated that the technician was only at our home for forty minutes. There was no test of water temperature. I have since replaced my water heater with another brand--it works fine and there were no plumbing problems! I thought the name Whirlpool meant something. I have owned quite a few Whirlpool appliances over the years, in fact my new washing machine is Whirlpool. But I am definitely disinclined to purchase this brand again. I am so disappointed with the service I received from Whirlpool, a huge waste of time and money, and I am out $95.00 for nothing. I think Whirlpool should reimburse me for this, as the original (honest) plumber was correct. My water heater was defective and should have been replaced at that time. If it had been, you would probably still have a customer.

We have a 2008 Whirlpool gas range that has worked reasonably well but lately more and more of the electronic push switches on the keypad have stopped functioning. So now I cant set an oven temperature as only a few of the 10 number switches still work. I talked to an appliance repair guy who said that the typical electronic keypads are notorious for burning out after 3-5 years because of heat transfer from the oven. So now Im stuck with an oven that is virtually unusable and a $400-500 cost to replace the keypad control. Is it worth replacing? Can the faulty control buttons be somehow fixed? Shouldnt Whirlpool acknowledge the faulty design and provide a free (and hopefully better) keypad? There must be thousands of people out there with similar circ*mstances. What about a class action suit? Any advice/opinions out there?

We bought a Cabrio washer & dryer September 2010 for a room addition that wasnt completed yet. We didnt get moved in until the first of November. So the washer wasnt used until then. In January 2011 (15 months later) it stopped spinning so clothes were dripping wet. We called Whirlpool and were told that they would be happy to set us up for a service agreement for $322 for one year. We declined since we bought the washer for a little over $500. When we had a local Whirlpool service man come out and he determined that it was the control board which would cost $265 (Whirlpool only warrants parts 90 days). I sent an email to Whirlpool and was told too bad, so sad. We called their customer care line (that is really not the term for that phone center) and asked to talk to a supervisor, who essentially told me the same thing. Whirlpool is making equipment that is extremely poor quality. There is no incentive for them to produce a better quality product as they make money on the extended warranties that are necessary, or if you dont buy an extended warranty they charge an extraordinary huge price for their parts, which they dont warranty. We will never purchase anything made by Whirlpool. I am not sure where this useless piece of junk that I have will end up but I intend to let everyone I know what a terrible company Whirlpool is to deal with.

After about 9-10 months the ice maker didn’t seem to produce enough ice. I called the store I purchased it at and tried to get them to come out and find out what was wrong. They waited and waited. I had to call them back at least 2 times before they finally sent someone. But by the time they sent someone to look at it the one year warranty had expired. I spent $1800.00 on this refrigerator and it didn’t even last longer than a year. Of course Whirlpool wanted to come look at it and charge me another $100.00 service call and possibly another $100.00 for parts and labor. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again.

Turns out the 2 year old washer needs a shift actuator and a wire harness that will cost close to $400 and take a week to obtain! I have had Kenmore appliances for the past 35 years. Ive never been disappointed it their performance or longevity. Each appliance lasting 15+ years and in the case of my fridge, it lasted 30 years! I am very disappointed in Whirlpool and WILL NEVER purchase another whirlpool product.

We purchased this dishwasher (Gold Dishwasher WDF60SADB) because of its low 49-decibel rating. It goes over 60 decibels regularly and occasionally up to 70 during operation (not including drain noises which cannot be controlled by the dishwasher). We used a tablet app to confirm. Decibels are not linear, they are exponential. 70 decibels is what your average shower or dishwasher sounds like. 50 is about as quiet as a refrigerator. You have to talk over this dishwasher. And yes there was a big price difference between it and Whirlpools next loudest rated washer.Whirlpools customer service says they will not replace or repair based on sound ever, only for functional failure. Bottom line, dont pay any attention to Whirlpool sound ratings. They dont stand by them and do not consider gross overages a defect. Fortunately the retailer (Lowes) does stand by what they sell and will trade for any other machine by any other manufacturer. We have only good things to say about Lowes in this process. This machine arrived Wednesday, and we pick a replacement Sunday. It will not be a Whirlpool. I will never buy a Whirlpool anything again. We said it will do X but we dont care if a brand new one wont is no way to do business.

Ordered this two days after my son came home from college. He had to be out of his apartment July 31 2016 and brought 4 years worth of laundry with him. Monday my machine breaks, Tuesday I order this thing from Lowes Arrives at 2:30 on Thursday and as it is being installed I ask why the water fill is so slow. It is trickling out like a childs toy. Delivery man tells me the water is completely turned on. He hears this remark a lot from people who buy this model. I put in my first load of laundry, a small load of about 6 things that I am washing for my mother who is in a nursing home. They have that nursing home smell. I push pause as the machine is cleaning to unlock the lid and peek inside. Oh my God the clothes are sitting on top of each other not even covered in water. I then shut the lid and listen to the tiny slush of the machine agitating. At the end of the cycle they smell exactly the same. Dirty.I had read to use the deep fill so I rewash them on deep fill. Look inside halfway through and what do I see? Wet clothes piled on top of each other, still not floating in water. How are these clothes getting clean when they are in a wet pile on the bottom of the machine? I take them out. Still not clean. Not smelling quite as bad, but not smelling like soap. I then washed sheets, a blanket, and some clothing of my sons. Nothing smelled particularly dirty but NOTHING smelled like soap. The quilt was covered in hairs (my son and roommates had a dog) and soap residue. I had read this in reviews online also. I am wasting time since each load takes from 50 to 130 minutes (yes). I am wasting soap, oh but I am saving water - not really.Well Lowes has a 30 day return policy so I went down there and am expecting a GE machine with an agitator tomorrow, Saturday! Cant wait. The only one saving money are these manufacturers They no longer are spending cash on producing the agitator out of plastic, attaching it with nuts and bolts, or using gaskets between the parts. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK, do not even look at it. I question all the HE machines at this point. You need to use HE soap cause you cant wash away suds in a machine with no water. Weve had this washing machine only a few years, and our household of 2 probably averages 1 load of laundry per week. Weve always had the same problem everyone has with the detergent stains on clothing and having to rewash loads, and the only remedy weve found was using the oversized loads setting and rewashing a load. The last straw was 6 months ago. It quit going through a complete cycle and would not spin out without resetting it. Then it quit spinning out at all. Service Guard, a 3rd party warranty company, diagnosed a faulty motor and ordered a replacement. After a long delay Whirlpool advised it was back-ordered for 3 months. A week ago Whirlpool advised them it was now back-ordered until 5-27. They did not know whether wed ever obtain a replacement motor. After taking clothes to our sons house for a couple months to wash, we purchased another used machine to use until ours is repaired. It is beginning to appear that machine may be our permanent machine. This is a pretty sad testimonial about whirlpool. We have always used Whirlpool appliances but appears we may have to switch brands. And it certainly does appear these low water machines are garbage. Very disappointed in Whirlpool.

Purchased our stainless steel Whirlpool Gold range hood microwave oven in January 2011. By August, there were problems. It was noisy. It would occasionally shut off for no apparent reason and eventually in August of that same year, it completely stopped heating. The magnetron was replaced at no charge because it was still under warranty. The microwave has continued to run very loudly, vibrate a lot and is still prone to random shutoffs. Now a little over 2 years later, it has now stopped heating again...I am assuming another bad magnetron. How is that possible? Our last microwave lasted for over 10 years! In fact we got rid of it when it was still working fine so we could get this one for over the range instead of on our countertop. So now I have a Whirlpool paper weight for which I originally paid $485. When I called Whirlpool, I was informed a service call would be $130.00 PLUS any necessary parts and labor costs OR I could purchase the repair plus 1-yr extended warranty for $289.95. Upon requesting to speak to a supervisor, I was informed that there were no flags in the system indicating any problems with this line of microwaves. I further inquired on how they are aware of problems... Essentially a phone call warrants little proof of any problem. A service tech would have to actually go out and witness that there is a problem for it to be noted. So, for those of us that simply decide to turn our back on the product and buy a new microwave, it would go undocumented by their company. My top-of-the-line microwave is less than 3 years old and has broken down again. Doesnt common sense tell you that there is a problem with the quality? I know Whirlpool has been around for 100+ years and I really want to like them, but if they dont support the consumers that purchased their products, I can no longer do the same for them.

I recently had the bake sensor go bad on my Control Panel of our Whirlpool Gold AccuBake Oven with microwave. Not a problem correct? WRONG! While the Whirlpool people were very professional in helping me (a shout out to them), the part I received was the wrong color. It was white; they called it a biscuit color. My oven is black. I have no idea what Whirlpool actually calls that color. Anyway, in my visit with them, I was informed the black control panel has been discontinued. Am I the only person that has a black control panel? This $280.00 part is now going to cost approximately $3,000.00 to replace the entire unit. Is there anyone that can direct me to where I can find a black replacement control panel? Way to take care of your customers Whirlpool. Solve this and I will give you a great shout out.
