Table of Contents

As soon as Valentine’s Day is over, we start thinking about spring and Easter decorations, especially for the front door and porch.

Instead of going with a traditional grapevine wreath, we decided to go with a fun wreath in a carrot shape.

It’s a bit unexpected and a great way to add lots of color to your porch or patio for the warmer weather.

The best thing is you can easily find the inexpensive craft supplies at the dollar store or your local craft stores.

We’re also sharing the sweet Easter bunny tag printable with you as a free download.

So let’s get to the how-to for this charming carrot wreath!

Cover The Wire Carrot With Burlap

The first thing you want to do is cover the entire carrot with burlap.

As mentioned above, if you can’t find the carrot wreath form, you can use the witch hat wire wreath or any form that is in the triangle shape of a carrot.

Start at the tip of the carrot and secure the burlap with a bit of hot glue.

This will cover the wire and also give the carrot a bit more padding.

Continue covering up to the carrot top.

It helps to fold the burlap over the top of the carrot and secure with a bit more hot glue.

Wrap with Orange Burlap Ribbon

The next step is to cover the entire front and back side of the wreath with orange burlap.

You can also use orange yarn, but we like the chunkier look of the burlap ribbon.

Start at the bottom of the carrot, add hot glue and work your way up the Easter wreath until it is fully covered.

Add Green Deco Mesh

What makes this carrot door hanger stand out is the green deco mesh across the top of the carrot.

Deco mesh comes in a variety of colors, but this bright green works great with the orange.

Simply start with a roll of deco mesh working in sections.

Secure it to the wire form with pipe cleaners or zip ties.

Continue to add deco mesh and secure the second sections to the wreath hanger with another pipe cleaner.

The deco mesh will have lots of little strings as you see in the above photo, so just snip those off.

Attach Greenery

To create the look of a carrot top hot glue greenery along the top.

This is where you can get creative and add additional spring flowers such as tulip stems if you like.

We wanted to keep it true to an actual carrot so we stuck with a variety of greenery and love the look!

Secure an Easter Bunny Tag

The final step is to attach an Easter bunny tag to the top of the carrot wreath.

Download the free printable Easter bunny.

We used mod podge to secure it to a dollar store wood tag that we had in our craft stash.

The tag fills in the space below the deco mesh nicely and really steps it up a notch.

It looks so pretty on an interior door, but we plan to hang it on our spring balcony.
