Can You Crochet a Blanket in One Day?

You can crochet this blanket in one day! If you have the time to sit you can make the largest size of this gorgeous blanket in 8 hours or less!

This easy project uses 6 skeins of yarn to create a square blanket. Each cake took me just over an hour to work through, so 8 hours is a reasonable amount of time to make this cozy blanket.

How Many Hours Does it Take to Crochet a Blanket?

The amount of time it takes to crochet a blanket has a lot of factors to take into account. Things like the size of the blanket, hook size, stitch pattern, and yarn weight will determing how long it will take to crochet a blanket.

This easy blanket crochet pattern for example uses a simple pattern, bulky yarn and an oversized crochet hook. Those factor make this a great choice if you want to crochet a fast blanket.

How Fast Can a Beginner Crochet a Blanket?

If you are a beginner crocheter the speed that you can make a blanket will vary. You can do it quickly if you use simple stitches you are familiar with.

Pattern Description

This simple crochet blanket is made using corner to corner moss stitch which means it is worked on the bias.

This afghan pattern will increase evenly on each side and decrease evenly on each side so that you will have a square blanket.

This is an easy skill level free pattern that is perfect for new crocheters looking to make their first blanket.

Using chunky yarn instead of a lighter yarn like worsted weight yarn will make seeing and working the stitches easy for a beginner or anyone suffering from hand pain or hand fatigue .

Moss stitch only uses single crochet and chain stitches. This is a great beginner crochet blanket for a first project if you only know these stitches!

I used this technique for my Plaid Scarf Wrap and you canwatch this videotutorial to see how to start this easy pattern.

The hardest part of this throw blanket is the corner stitch to get started. If you have trouble keeping track of where to put your hook you use a stitch marker at the end of the row.

Designed in 3 different sizes, baby, lapghan and thow, this blanket would make a perfect gift!

You could use this pattern so make a crocheted blanket in different yarn weights and any type of yarn, like worsted weight yarn and a smaller hook. You would just work the Row 5 repeat until the sides reach the length and width you want and then begin the decrease instructions.
